Reshuffle in Maharashtra bureaucracy

IN a major reshuffle in the Maharashtra bureaucracy, 13 senior IAS officers have been transferred.

The transfer orders were issued on Tuesday.

Mr A. Ramakrishnan, Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration, Maharashtra, has been transferred. The Principal Secretary, Mr M. Ramesh Kumar, of the Tribal Development Department, Mumbai, has been made the new Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration, Mumbai.

The Vice-Chairman and Managing Director (MD), Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd, Mr. A. K. Lakhina, has been shunted to SICOM as the MD.

Mr Ramnath Jha, an officer of the 1977 batch, who was not holding any portfolio, will take over from Mr Lakhina.

The Collector of Mumbai city, Mr Pradeep Kumar Vyas, has been shifted to the Maharashtra State Farming Development Corporation Ltd as its MD.

Mr Mahesh Pathak, Joint Secretary in the Chief Secretary's Office will be the new Collector.

Mr Sanjay Mukherjee, Director, Textiles Department, Nagpur, is being brought in as the new Deputy Sales Tax Commissioner.

The Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur, Mr S.K. Sharma, has been transferred to Pune as the Commissioner of Co-operatives.

Mr S.M. Limaye, Additional Commissioner, Tribal Development, Nashik, will be the new Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur.

Mr Nandakumar, Joint MD, Maharashtra State Textile Development Corporation, Mumbai, will take over as the Commissioner, Nagpur Municipal Corporation.

Mr B.I. Nagrale, Commissioner, Directorate of Small Savings, will be the new Secretary, Tribal Development Department, Secretariat, Mumbai.

Mr Dinesh Waghmare, Director of Cultural Development (south-central region), Nagpur, has been appointed as the Chairman, Nagpur Improvement Trust.

Mr Sudhir Thakery, Deputy Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation Department, has been made the Deputy Secretary in the Chief Secretary's Office.
