ICAI seminar on WTO issues in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organising a day-long national seminar on `Emerging Professional Opportunities in the WTO Regime' on Saturday.

Speaking to newspersons, Mr S. Gopalakrishnan, ICAI Chairman, Committee on Trade Laws and WTO, said that the focus of the seminar would be on emerging opportunities for professional assignments as a result of the implementation of the WTO regime.

The seminar would dwell upon the opportunities available in the WTO regime to the professionals in the services sector in general and the accountancy sector in particular.

It would bring to fore the challenges posed to the accountancy sector, particularly in view of the current negotiations under the GATS at WTO, he said.
