Bank credit dips by Rs 4,841 cr

MUMBAI: Gross bank credit decreased by Rs 4,841 crore to Rs 11,27,433 crore, for the fortnight ended April 29, according to the RBI's Weekly Statistical Supplement, as against Rs 11,32,274 crore in the previous fortnight.

This is inclusive of food credit, which increased by Rs 4,918 crore to touch Rs 41,765 crore and non-food credit, which decreased by Rs 9,759 crore to touch Rs 10,85,669 crore. Total accommodation provided by scheduled commercial banks to the commercial sector increased by Rs 34,992 crore to touch Rs 11,79,273 crore for the same period.
