Railway platform ticket to cost Rs 5

Our Bureau

New Delhi , May 16

THE railway platform ticket will cost Rs 5 instead of Rs 3 from next month.

A Railway Board notification said on Monday that the increase would become effective from June 1.

The board, however, did not give any reasons for the steep increase. Apparently, the hike is meant to regulate the entry of people at the already over-crowded railway stations across the country.
