Market Shares `Shee Shee' diapers eyes 10% market share Our Bureau
Hyderabad , May 17 UNITED Enterprises, Hyderabad-based exporters and importers that unveiled the `Shee Shee' brand of diapers of Malaysia here on Monday, has set a target of garnering a market share of 10 per cent in the first year of operations. Addressing the media, its Director, Mr Musaib Ahmed, said the `Shee Shee' diapers manufactured by the Malaysia-based People & Gritt were being directly imported for marketing in India. The strap and the leg elastic band ensured the much-required firm grip and flexibility for the baby, he said. "It also has an additional feature of anti-bacterial and odour control." According to the Director of Management and Marketing Research Consultants (MMRC), Mr Abhay Ekbote, the disposable diapers market was estimated at around 30,000 tonnes per annum. With a market size in value terms of around Rs 100 crore, the disposable diapers segment was growing at an average of around 12 per cent per annum. However, it has only few players. The market survey findings of MMRC have shown over 80 per cent acceptability of `Shee Shee' brand by young mothers, Mr Ekbote claimed. According to Mr Musaib Ahmed, the company plans to establish a wide distribution network in the major metros and Class-1 cities in the first year of operations.
