Average salary in BIM campus recruitment increases to Rs 4.5 lakh

THE average salary for students of Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchi, has increased to Rs 4.5 lakh during 2005 campus recruitment compared to Rs 3.2 lakh last year. The maximum salary offered in Placements 2005 was Rs 6.5 lakh a year, according to the institute's Director (in charge) Mr M. Sankaran.

The institute, which is part of the Bharathidasan University, attracted 40 companies to the campus for Placements 2005. Some of the companies include GECIS, Symphony Services, Ashok Leyland, Ma Foi Management, Hexaware Technologies, Ramco Systems, Infosys, Servion Global and TVS Motors, says a press release issued by the institute.

Out of the 112 management students in 2005 batch, about 90 per cent of them opted for new position instead of returning to their previous employers or summer employers, and 6 per cent of them preferred to return to their summer employers. The 2005 batch had a mix of students with prior work experience after under graduate studies and those without any prior work experience. The number of years of work experience of students ranged from a few months to a maximum of 6 years, the release says.
