3 new addl directors on Ambuja Cement Eastern board

Mumbai , May 18

AMBUJA Cement Eastern Ltd has appointed three new additional directors on its board, following the recent majority acquisition into its holding company Ambuja Cement India Ltd by Swiss major Holcim.

The new directors are Mr Paul Heinz Hugentoblerb, Mr Onne Van der Wiejdec and Mr Ramit Budhraj, said a notice to the stock exchanges issued by the company.

The board of directors has accepted the resignations of its members Mr A.L. Kapur, Mr P.B. Kulkarni and Mr Santosh Senapati.

It has also approved the extension of the current accounting year by six months. It will be for a period of 18 months ending December 31, 2005. This will be subject to approval from the Registrar of Companies.
