Kolkata , May 18

JESSOP & Co on Wednesday entered into a long-term bipartite agreement with two trade unions affiliated to CITU and INTUC for extending DA benefits and wage increments to its employees during the next three years.

Apart from committing itself on basic wage increments, the company has also promised increases in fringe benefits like LTA, tiffin allowance among other things.

"This is the first wage increment in Jessop in the last six years. We are also the only company that has done it through a bipartite approach. We wanted to see our workers happy," said Mr P.K. Ruia, Chairman of the company.
