New Delhi , May 19 THE Annual Plan of Haryana for the current fiscal has been fixed at Rs 3,000 crore at a meeting between the State Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and the Planning Commission's Deputy Chairman, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia. The Plan outlay for 2005-06 is inclusive of a one-time additional Central assistance of Rs 25 crore for specific projects of particular interest to the State. In his opening remarks, Mr Ahluwalia lauded the State Government for a consistent growth performance during the first three years of the Tenth Plan with satisfactory contribution of primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. The Plan panel drew the attention of the State Government to the adverse sex ratio of 820, which is far below the all-India average of 933 females to every 1,000 males. The State was asked to diversify agricultural operations as a strategy to accelerate agricultural growth. The Chief Minister apprised the Commission on reform initiatives and said high priority was accorded to education, health, drinking water, urban development, employment generation and welfare of weaker sections with an outlay of Rs 1,400 crore in this regard. He pleaded for Central support for funding the land acquisition cost for the construction of the Western periphery expressway and an early approval of the Delhi-Gurgaon integrated rail-cum-bus transit project.
