Karnataka guidelines for fixing land value

BANGALORE: In an attempt to bring down the mounting litigations by agriculturists challenging the compensation awarded for the lands acquired for development projects, the Karnataka Government today issued a set of new guidelines for assessing land value.

The Government has directed the acquisition officials to follow ``capitalisation of income system'' while fixing the compensation at the initial stages itself to avoid civil disputes with land owners, the Minister for Law, Mr H.K. Patil, said here.
