Thiruvananthapuram , May 20

AS part of its efforts to reach out to the small and medium business (SMB) segment, Acer India is partnering with Intel to organise a series of seminars in various towns across South India.

Mr S. Rajendran, General Manager - Sales and Marketing, Consumer Product Group, Acer India Pvt Ltd said these events, called `SMB Partnership Summit,' are being held in six towns in the first phase.

The event, which has already been held in Visakhapatnam on May 12, is being organised in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. Other locations where the `SMB Partnership Summit' will be organised include Madurai, Tirupur, Hubli and Mangalore, he added.

In the second phase of the initiative, the `SMB Partnership Summit' will be held in other towns across the country, said Mr Rajendran.

The idea behind the event is to introduce SMBs in smaller towns to the benefits of information technology (IT), he explained.

The event targets SMBs in areas such as education, healthcare, retailing and manufacturing, and attempts to make the participants understand that "IT is an integral part of business today," he said.

Besides exposing participants to IT success stories from a range of industries, the event will also highlight products manufactured by the two companies. In addition, the event will also include presentations by software suppliers such as Tally and Ramco, Mr Rajendran said.
