SSI sheds part Aptech stake

CHENNAI: SSI Ltd has sold 10.15 per cent of its total equity in Aptech Ltd for about Rs 17 crore, according to SSI sources.

SSI sold the stake through a bulk deal to various financial institutions and investors. Consequent to this transaction, SSI's holding in Aptech stands reduced to 15.60 per cent from 25 per cent, says an SSI communication to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

SSI has also decided to explore the option of selling its remaining stake in Aptech to private equity or strategic or long-term investors, given its changing business model and strategic priorities. For this purpose the company has mandated ASK-Raymond James & Associates Private Ltd, Mumbai, according to the company. The recent deal was also put through by ASK-Raymond James.
