Pharmaceuticals Lupin Q4 net dips to Rs 21.73 cr Our Bureau
Mumbai , May 20 LUPIN has reported a net profit of Rs 21.73 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 against Rs 29.75 crore in the year-ago period. Total income (net of excise) during the quarter increased to Rs 299.48 crore from Rs 296.31 crore in the same period last year. The company posted a net profit of Rs 84.36 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 compared with Rs 98.71 crore for the year ended March 31, 2004. Total income (net of excise) increased to Rs 1179.90 crore (Rs 1,164.83 crore). Sales for the quarter and the year ended March 31, 2005 are net of trade discount, the company informed the BSE. "Accordingly, the figures for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2004 have been disclosed on net of trade discount basis. However, the said regrouping has no impact on the profit figures," the company said. Meanwhile, the group has posted a net profit (after minority interest) of Rs 91.84 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 compared with Rs 86.80 crore for the year ended March 31, 2004. Total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 1,266.55 crore in financial year 2004 to Rs 1,284.55 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2005. The company's board has recommended a dividend at 65 per cent, that is, Rs 6.50 per equity share of the face value of Rs 10 each, absorbing Rs 29.75 crore (inclusive of tax on dividend) for the year ended March 31, 2005.
