INDIAN Airlines (IA) is to assist Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to lease two new business jets capable of seating 9-12 passengers.

This was agreed to in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies here on Friday. The state-owned airline will also undertake the operation and provide maintenance services for the two new business jets. The MoU was signed by the Indian Airlines Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sunil Arora, and the ONGC Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Subir Raha.

Indian Airlines is to be the custodian of the aircraft and operate them to meet the requirement of ONGC for the movement of its personnel, especially the crisis management team to various operational locations and work centres in India and overseas.
