SPIC-MACAY meet at Manipal

MANGALORE: The 20th national convention of SPIC-MACAY, called `Our Composite Heritage', will be held at Manipal in Udupi district from May 24-29.

A release said on Monday that the Karnataka Governor, Mr T.N. Chaturvedi, would inaugurate the convention, jointly organised by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and SPIC-MACAY.

Quoting the MAHE Vice-Chancellor, Dr H.S. Ballal, the release said: "MAHE looks at the overall development of students through quality education, well- researched faculty and industry-specific courses. It is our constant endeavour to provide students with values beyond the academic sphere. Our association with SPIC-MACAY is an ideal platform to showcase Indian culture and spread the value of Indian heritage among our students."

Fourteen renowned artistes will perform and interact with nearly 700 delegates during the five-day event, the release said.
