Hyderabad , May 23

TEGIC Communications, a wholly-owned subsidiary of America Online Inc, on Monday announced that Tata Teleservices Ltd. is offering T9 text input software in English and Hindi on its latest wireless phone of LG Electronics, referred to as Walky, which is powered by Tegic.

The integration of predictive text input software into these handsets is a first for Tegic and for the Indian telecom industry, according to a statement from Tegic.

Requiring just one key press per letter, T9 technology makes it easy to communicate with friends and family using SMS on fixed wireless phones.
