Airlines Jet Air launches London service Our Bureau
Mumbai , May 23 JET Airways launched its first inter-continental flight by linking Mumbai with London Heathrow by a non-stop day flight here on Monday. According to an official statement, flight 9W 118 (Mumbai-London), will depart from the international airport daily (except Mondays and Thursdays) at 1.20 p.m. and arrive in London Heathrow at 6.30 p.m. On Mondays, this flight will depart Mumbai at 11.45 a.m. and arrive in London Heathrow at 4.55 p.m. On Thursdays, flight 9W 118 will leave Mumbai at 12.30 p.m. and arrive in London Heathrow at 5.40 p.m. From Heathrow airport, flight 9W 117 (London-Mumbai) will depart daily at 9.25 p.m. and arrive in Mumbai at 10.50 a.m. the following morning. According to an official statement, the first flight took off with a full complement of passengers. The airline has come out with an inaugural return fare of Rs 23,000 in economy class on the sector. The airline will operate an A340-300 Enhanced aircraft on the sector, with a capacity of 269 passengers in a two-class layout. It has signed up with Lufthansa Technik for maintenance support and assignment of qualified engineers for the operations of the A340-300E aircraft.
