APSRTC employees' plea to check pvt carriers

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: Employees of AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) have asked the State Government to check private carriers that have been cutting into the corporation's revenues.

While welcoming the sops announced by the Government to bail out the corporation, the APSRTC Karmika Sangh said that the payment of dues and tax concessions were a temporary relief to the ailing corporation.

"The Government is turning a blind eye on illegal transport services. This has resulted in a dip in number of people using RTC buses," Mr Kotla Vijayakumar, General Secretary of the Sangh, said here in a press release.
