Human Resources Cambridge to increase headcount Our Bureau
Bangalore , May 26 CAMBRIDGE Integrated Services, the business process outsourcing (BPO) outfit of the Scandent Group, plans to ramp up its headcount in India to some 3,500 by 2006. Cambridge, which currently has some 300 people in India, launched a new centre in Bangalore on Thursday that can accommodate about 3,000 people. The company has invested Rs 20 crore in the new facility. The new facility, expected to be fully operational by May 2006, will augment Cambridge's operations in Bangalore and complement the work being done for the company's centres in the US, UK and Australia, said Mr Nimish Soni, Managing Director, Cambridge India. The Bangalore facility will focus on process consulting and transaction processing for insurance companies, healthcare organisations and financial institutions, said Mr Chris Sinclair, Executive Chairman Cambridge. "The new facility is indicative of the growing demand for the specialised services that we provide," he added. "With development centres in four continents, Cambridge's current employee strength of 2,300 is expected to nearly double by the year end and the revenue is targeted to grow to $300 million in the next 12 months," Mr Sinclair said. Cambridge specialises in offering back office services relating to mortgage application and renewal, medical billing, finance, insurance claims and accounting among others. DHL, Corporate Express, Mastercard, Southwest Airlines, Bally Total Fitness are among the key customers of Cambridge.
