Direct flight from Germany to Kerala

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lufthansa Airways has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Union Government under which the German carrier will introduce a direct flight to Kerala.

Announcing this, the State Tourism Minister, Mr K. C. Venugopal, said here that this would be the first direct flight that would link the State with a European destination. Frankfurt or Munich will be linked with the Cochin International Airport (CIAL) in this manner, he added.

The Minister had earlier submitted representations to the Union Civil Aviation Minister requesting that direct flights be operated in the European sector to aid tourist arrivals into the State.
