COLOUR-Chem Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 15.59 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 against Rs 33.57 crore in the previous year.

According to a press release, the net profits are not comparable as the company incurred a deferred tax charge of Rs 5.64 crore during the year, while it had a deferred tax credit of Rs 18.02 crore in the previous year. The operating profit was up 43 per cent with profit before tax of Rs 35.79 crore. The improvement in operating performance reflects the benefits of company's ongoing internal restructuring and downsizing initiatives, said the release.

The board has recommended a dividend of 60 per cent, same as that of previous year.
