Airlines Logistics - Infrastructure Airports revamp: More time for bidders to name partners Ashwini Phadnis
New Delhi , May 27 THE Government has extended till June 3 the last date for the nine successful bidders participating in the restructuring of Delhi and Mumbai airports to firm up their consortium partners. Official sources told Business Line that the 10-day extension had been given because some of the bidders had sought clarifications on a number of issues. The bidders wanted to know under what conditions partners could be changed and whether the assets of the subsidiary would be included while considering the net worth of the company that was bidding. Officials admitted that the Government had been unable to respond in time to all the clarifications and it was considered fair to accede to the request of the bidders seeking more time for firming up their consortium partners. Conceding that the Government would require at least two months to conduct the technical evaluation of the bids and studying the plans before identifying the winner, officials were categorical in stating that the current extension would not affect the earlier time-table set for the restructuring of the two metro airports.
