New Projects AMES allotted land in Kinfra Food Park Our Bureau
Kochi , May 29 AMES International, one of the largest nut roasters, as well as panned and enrobed chocolate producers in the West Coast of the US, has been allotted four acres of land at the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation's Food Park at Muvattupuzha. The new venture envisages a total investment of Rs 50 crore within the next five years and major activities to be pursued are tea and cashew processing - with value addition through chocolate coating for the latter. The 100 per cent export oriented venture has plans to touch a turnover of Rs 300-350 crore per year. By buying direct from the suppliers, AMES is able to eliminate middlemen and source the best quality product at the best price. "AMES products range from high-end gifts to drug store snack packs; however, the quality to price ratio transcends market segments, providing a consistent value to each and every customer," the company said in a statement here. The US nut division offers fully featured production tools, capable of frying and roasting any premium nut in mass quantities. In 2004, the AMES tea division started production of the Teaosophy line. AMES International began as a roaster and packager of cashews imported from India to the US and has today grown to offer a variety of chocolate covered nuts, fruit and cookies. The tea division also currently sources its teas from various regions of India.
