BHEL disinvestment

This is with reference to the article "BHEL disinvestment" (Business Line, May 28).

The question is to weigh the benefits. The Government may still hold about 58 per cent equity, and the funds raised would perhaps be used towards improving health care facilities, education etc.

But the question is whether such benefits outweigh the profitability of the navaratna concerned? Is the Government just trying to test the waters for future action?
