Mergers & Acquisitions Variety - Entertainment & Leisure Jamdat buys Blue Lava Our Bureau
Hyderabad , May 30 JAMDAT Mobile, the global wireless entertainment publisher, has announced the acquisition of Blue Lava Wireless and long-term licence from Tetris, a wireless gaming application. The company, which has a development and support centre in Hyderabad, now plans to offer Tetris wireless rights in India and Latin America. Jamdat has acquired Blue Lava Wireless LLC for about $137 million and as a part of this transaction, it has also acquired a 15-year worldwide licence to offer wireless telephony device rights for Tetris, with an option for another three years. Tetris is one of the popular mobile games worldwide. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jamdat Mobile, Mr Mitch Lasky, said, "The acquisition will enhance Jamdat mobile's distribution strength, including in India, Europe and Asia."
