Telecommunications Marketing - Strategy AirtelExpress vans to spread mobile awareness in Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , May 30 Airtel has flagged off AirtelExpress vans that will take its bouquet of services to people's doorstep. These vans are expected to cover over 350 towns in the next 90 days. Airtel is combining a series of initiatives in its mass contact programme through a caravan of seven fully-equipped vans, offering various options to go mobile. Through AirtelExpress, users can choose from a bundle of options that include a Motorola C115 or Nokia 1100 handset, with offers starting from Rs 2,100. The Chief Operating Officer of Bharti Cellular Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, Mr T. Elango, said, "AirtelExpress is a first-of-a-kind movement in the State, and it is our initiative to bolster the telecom landscape of the State by offering the most affordable options to customers." Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr Elango said, "These options are being taken to the customers' doorstep for the first time. Over the next 90 days, AirtelExpress vans will cover more than 350 towns of the State reiterating the convenience and utility of a mobile phone by facilitating penetration of mobile telephony in the State." Flagging off these vans, the State Minister of Information and Public Relations, Mr Shabbir Ali, said, "This initiative would be ideal and relevant for small towns and rural areas in the State. Telecom is a significant catalyst for the overall growth of the economy, and this movement should lead to an enhancement in awareness levels and penetration, thereby leading to an increase in teledensity." "Airtel continues to expand operations and is present in about 400 towns in the State. We are on course to crossing the one-million mark in the State," Mr Elango said.
