CanBank(Kerala) GM demits office

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mr G. Umesh Shenoy demitted office on Tuesday as General Manager, Canara Bank, Kerala Circle, bringing to an end a career spanning 35 years.

Mr Shenoy, who headed the Kerala operations of Canara Bank for more than two years, was also the Convenor of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC), the apex body dealing with operations in the banking sector.

SLBC is responsible for co-ordinating the functioning of the banks with the welfare activities of the State Government. During his tenure, the Credit-Deposit Ratio improved from 43 per cent to 60 per cent, a spokesman said.

Mr Shenoy is credited with having set up district level committees for monitoring educational loans. He has also served as Managing Director of CanFin Homes Ltd, a subsidiary of Canara Bank.
