Our Correspondent

Kottayam , May 31

DOMESTIC rubber prices were almost unchanged on Tuesday.

Covering groups turned slightly active expecting better quotes from major manufacturers but failed to create an uptrend in most of the grades. Sheet rubber was the only gainer improving 25 paise to Rs 63.75 and Rs 63.50 respectively at Kottayam and Kochi on covering purchases.

The NMCE futures declined marginally reacting to a weak TOCOM closing. The June contract was quoted at Rs 63.74 (Rs 63.82), July at Rs 64.35 (Rs 64.43) and August at Rs 62.10 (Rs 62.30) per kg for RSS 4.

Prices (per kg) were as follows: RSS-4: Rs 63.75 (Rs 63.50); RSS-5: Rs 61.50 (Rs 61.50); ungraded: Rs 59.50 (Rs 59.50); ISNR 20: Rs 59.75 (Rs 59.75); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 40.50 (Rs 40.50).
