Expo on building materials in Hyderabad

AIMED at creating awareness on the latest building materials and allied products, the Andhra Pradesh chapter of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is organising a three-day exhibition in Hyderabad.

The exhibition on building materials, architecture, interiors and allied products would be held at People's Plaza on the Necklace Road here from August 5, the IIA Andhra Pradesh chapter Chairman, Mr D.T. Vinod Kumar, said.

Addressing the media here on Monday, he said the exposition, titled `Arch Show 2005', would showcase both Indian and international building construction materials and tools. Of around 200 stalls at the expo, the organisers expect at least 20 per cent to be occupied by global market players.

The expo would also organise guest lectures, seminars, product presentations and special sessions on vaastu . It would have an architectural help line comprising of a panel of experts in the field of architecture and vaastu for clarifying the doubts of general public. The organisers also plan to distribute free literature on frequently asked questions pertaining to vaastu.

According to the Joint Honorary Secretary of IIA (Andhra Pradesh chapter), Mr Milind Kollegal, the expo would also have a `Design Clinic' where a team of senior architects would clarify on issues relating to architecture and design.

Mr K. Mohandas, Managing Director of Showindow Management, the event managers of the expo, said apart from the general building materials, the exhibits also include contemporary domestic fixtures.
