Bangalore , June 1

WIPRO Ltd said on Wednesday that its domestic IT arm, Wipro Infotech, has not violated any norms in handling the e-waste as alleged by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board.

A Wipro spokesperson admitted that Wipro Infotech had received a show-cause notice from the KSPCB but said that the company had sought some time to reply to the notice.

"We are in the process of replying to the KSPCB notice and believe that we have not violated any norms in handling the e-waste," the spokesperson added.

Wipro Infotech has a computer assembly plant in Pondicherry. The allegations by the KSPCB could be relating to the handling and storage of spares and other items, sources said.
