THE National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) will hold its annual national conference in Kolkata on June 4.

In keeping with the increasing importance of human capital in businesses across the board, the institute has chosen "Partnering Business for Competing Advantage- HR Response" as the theme of the conference.

"Gone are the days when HR managers were looking after only the employees' records. Now, they have to understand business processes and play a strategic role in the growth of the organisation," the NIPM chairman, Mr P.K. Chatterjee, told newspersons here today.

The annual conference will be attended by a host of CEOs and HR executives from companies such as ONGC, Hindustan Lever, Gujarat Ambuja, Tractors India, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and others.
