Mixed trend in spot rubber continues

Our Correspondent

Kottayam, June 2

SPOT rubber continued to remain mixed on Thursday. Sheet rubber closed steady at Rs 63.25 a kg at Kottayam as buyers were unwilling to enhance their quotations.

Other grades, except RSS 5, declined on weak demand.

According to sources, the market might continue to move in a close range as most of the traders fear to buy at higher levels as the major manufactures were reported to be comfortable with their imports.

Futures were a tad up on positive signals from overseas markets. The June contract was traded at Rs 63.50 (Rs 63.31), July at Rs 64.10 (Rs 63.83) and August contract at Rs 62.10 (Rs 61.88) a kg for RSS 4.Spot rubber prices a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 63.25 (Rs 63.25); RSS-5: Rs 61.50 (Rs 61.50); ungraded: Rs 59.00 (Rs 59.50); ISNR 20: Rs 59.25 (Rs 59.75) and latex 60%: Rs 40.25 (Rs 40.50).
