Delhi firm is lowest bidder for SLBC tunnel

JAIPRAKASH Associates Ltd, a New Delhi-based firm, has become the lowest bidder (value at Rs 1,925 crore) for SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel tenders, which were opened yesterday.

The Government had invited tenders for SLBC Tunnel 1 and Tunnel 2 in open category and for the EPC (equipment, procurement and construction) contract in January 2005 and bids received on the State's e-procurement platform before May 9.

After evaluation, six bids were found to be qualified and yet another firm China Railway Engineering India was disqualified and the price bids of six qualified firms opened on June 2.

Jaiprakash Associates was declared the lowest bidder, according to a Government statement.
