Hyderabad , June 5

THE Andhra Pradesh Government has finalised a Rs 675-crore action plan to solve drinking water problems in all fluoride-affected habitations in next three years.

This is expected to benefit 28 lakh people.

Reviewing drinking water supply schemes here on Sunday, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, directed officials to take measures to improve water supply in those areas.

"Fluoride content in several habitations ranges between two ppm (parts per million) and 11 ppm, against the permissible limit of 1.5 ppm, leaving thousands of people with health problems," he said.
