GULF non-resident Indians (NRIs) are purchasing real estate properties in India with renewed vigour with realtors reporting increased demand for residential as well as commercial properties.
Prominent builders from across India showcased their projects at the 5th annual India Property 2005 exhibition in Dubai, which ended here on Friday. This year's show featured 70 participants compared with 54 last year. Properties ranging from Rs 15 lakh upwards were on offer catering to a wide cross-section of investors.
Mr Mehul Nanavati, General Manager, Marketing, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), organisers of the show along with The Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) and in association with ICICI Bank, told Business Line that the property show had received a tremendous response.
" In Mumbai, Bangalore and a few other cities, a large number of commercial complexes are coming up and NRI investors interested in business are keen to invest in offices, shops, etc,'' Mr Nanavati said.
