Hearing aid retail chain Sountex opens outlet in Mumbai

Our Bureau

Mumbai , June 9

HEARING aid retail chain SOUNTEX has opened an outlet in Mumbai. This is the sixth Sountex outlet, besides the ones in Chennai, Goa, Vellore, Bangalore and Delhi.

The outlet sells hearing aids made by Siemens Medical Instruments, a company note said.

Sountex provides services in Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan and Singapore. India is the sixth country to join the Sountex chain.

Sountex hearing aids are the first ones to have an internal coating of pure gold on their housing covers to protect them from the electromagnetic effects of mobile phones, the note said.

The `e2e' wireless system is available in the Sountex S800 16-channel hearing aid. This system allows communication between two hearing aids continuously.

Any adjustment made in the hearing aid in one ear is automatically communicated to the aid in the other ear. This enables the hearing aids to function as one system.

These aids also have an `e-pocket' remote control that allows changing settings on the instrument discretely.

Twin and tri-microphones are available in Sountex S800 and S700. These are 16 channel hearing aids, offering directional and omni-directional automatic switching. Sountex also has a full range of hearing aids with one to four channels at affordable prices, the note said.
