Jet plans to roll out new fare concept soon

Ashwini Phadnis

New Delhi , June 10

IN a fresh attempt to woo passengers, Jet Airways plans to offer new fares in the domestic market that will provide not only flexibility in making bookings but also more options at lower prices.

"The airline is looking at a new fare concept. We want to offer greater flexibility to the passengers when they make bookings. The new concept will be rolled out in the next month or two," the COO, Mr Peter Luethi, told Business Line.

The airline plans to utilise the recently launched revenue management system to come up with the new fare concept.

However, the new structure will not see the airline withdraw the existing promotional schemes like the Apex and Super Apex schemes, officials said.

Jet Airways has already made some "adjustment" in the fares charged under these promotional schemes and is unlikely to go in for any reduction on account of the recent lowering of the Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices, they added.

Meanwhile, the airline has introduced a new promotional fare of Rs 3,500 between Delhi and Kochi.
