Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S.Rajashekhara Reddy, approved the scheme for the development of East Coast in an integrated manner to facilitate the growth of tourism in the State.

As a part of this move, the Government is of the opinion that the taxation policy covering luxury tax, service tax and inter-state transport tax needs to be rationalised.

Apart from issues relating to Nizam Jewellery, which is planned to be located in Public Gardens, the Government has decided to hasten the process of completing the formalities in establishing special purpose vehicle for the Southern Splendour Train project. A meeting on this is slated for later this month.
