THOMSON Research Associates, a Canadian company, said on Tuesday that it has tied up with Resil Chemicals to market anti-microbial treatment product used in textiles.

Thomson Research Manager for sales and marketing, Mr Barrie Clemo, told a press conference that its new product, Ultra-Fresh Silpure enables textile makers to add superior odour and fibre degradation resistance to their products.

Ultra-Fresh Silpure is applied at the finishing stage for more complete protection of the fabric.

Tests carried out on fabric treated with Ultra-Fresh Silpure does not show any tendency to cause discolouration. Mr Clemo said the worldwide market for such a product is between $500 million and $1 billion.

Resil Chemicals' Managing Director, Mr M.S. Mohan, said the makers of sports and leisure wear can benefit from this product.
