Hyderabad , June 15

LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd (LGEIL) has commenced production line for desktop PC cabinets, claiming to be the first to do so in India.

These PC cabinets would be manufactured at the Greater Noida factory to cater to the domestic and export markets. This has been possible for LG with its vast manufacturing facility on steel/plastic moulding and paintshop infrastructure already existing.

Around Rs 1.5 crore has been invested in the production line for these cabinets. An R&D team has been appointed to help in customising the moulds keeping in mind the choice of the Indian customers. The General Manager, Product Group and Head-IT Products, Mr Manikandan, in a statement said: "Such a backward integration will enable better quality control on the final product-desktop PC and facilitate sustained product support even after years of selling, besides smooth supply."
