GURGAON: A consumer council is being set up in Gurgaon to address the problems being faced by citizens here under the aegis of the executive committee of the Grahak Sahayak. The move had been made to build consensus on deficiency in services such as electricity, water and transport in the area. "Issues to prevent malpractices, encroachments, improvement of railway links, telecom services, postal services, water preservation, prevention of electrical thefts and so on are staring in the face of people and administration. But the problems have not been solved due to a half hearted approach and poor administration" said Mr Sanjay Sethi, President of Grahak Sahayak's executive committee.

At the meeting it was decided to co-opt special invitees who will help form Consumer Information Centres in their localities.
