Andhra CM to tour Israel, Dubai from July 5

THE Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, will leave on July 5 on a tour to Dubai, Israel, and Egypt in an attempt to woo foreign investments.

He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation on the tour.

The official stated agenda behind the visit is to boost further investment in the industrial sector and implement practices to revive the agriculture sector.

The major objectives of Dr Reddy's foreign tour are studying the latest farm practices being followed in Israel, known for its innovation in agriculture, and examining how best they could be utilised for the benefit of farmers of Andhra Pradesh, and inviting major industrial groups in Dubai to invest in industries and infrastructure development in the State.

The delegation would include Ministers Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy (Agriculture) and Mr Botcha Satyanarayana (Industries), Advisors to Government Mr D.A. Somayajulu and Mr Peter Hasan, Principal Secretaries Mr K.V. Rao (Infrastructure & Investment), Mr D.K. Panwar (Agriculture), and Ms Lakshmi Parthasarathi (Industries).

They will also study issues such as infrastructure development in ports and IT.

The Chief Minister will hold exclusive meetings with the Israeli Ministers of IT and Agriculture.

In Dubai, he will be meeting dignitaries in the Government of the UAE and the Sultanates of Dubai and Ras al Khaima.

The high-level delegation is also likely to hold meetings with Emaar Developers, a Government infrastructure company in Dubai that is developing golf course in Hitec city, Hyderabad.

The company is also keen to convene the ADB meeting in India in 2006.
