Hyderabad , June 17

JURONG India has been appointed as the architect, engineer and construction manager for Sunny Isles - a premium residential enclave at Rushikonda near Visakhapatnam, by KSR Constructions, a developer engaged in real estate.

Jurong India is a member of Jurong International, which is wholly-owned by the Singapore-based JTC Coproration.

Earlier, the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) had entrusted the housing development over 12.78 acres at Rushikonda to KSR Constructions under public-private-partnership scheme.

Addressing a gathering on the official launch ceremony of the project here on Thursday, the Jurong India Chief Executive Officer, Mr Rao Munukutla, said the construction activities would begin in a week's time and the entire project would take off in 18 months period.

He said the project consisting of 54 luxurious villas perched on 12.78 acres of virgin hillock at Rushikonda boasts world-class facilities and amenities.

Each villa would be an opulent display of contemporary architecture, set among the looming hills with an expansive sea view.

According to the KSR Constructions Managing Director, Mr K. Ramana Reddy, the residents of the project can look forward to broadband connectivity, emergency power backup, a sewage treatment plant, and water recycling system, round-the-clock security and a world-class clubhouse.

Speaking on the occasion, the High Commissioner of Singapore to India, Mr See Chak Mun, said Singapore was looking forward to business opportunities in India in the areas of automobile components, software, healthcare and banking.

Singapore was also set to enter into a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) with India by the month-end when the Singapore Prime Minister visits the country.

The CECA, considered a milestone agreement between the two countries, would add further dimension to mutual cooperation, the High Commissioner said.
