eInfochips plans to double headcount

Our Bureau

Ahmedabad , June 17

EINFOCHIPS, an emerging chip and systems design services firm, has announced that it would double its headcount at its R&D centres from 270 to over 550.

The company has a design centre that employs over 250 design engineers in Ahmedabad.

Last year, it set up a new development and design facility in Pune.

The Pune centre is currently executing offshore projects for global technology companies such as QLogic and Tensilica.

"The demand for technology services is growing rapidly. The market potential for outsourced engineering services is estimated at $7-12 billion and around 20 per cent of the value is being outsourced to third party vendors in countries such as India, Taiwan, and China. There is significant untapped potential," said a release quoting Mr Pratul Shroff, President and CEO.
