`Samsung Digital' in Madurai

MADURAI: Samsung India Electronics Ltd (SIEL) has opened its first `Samsung Digital Home' in the city.

The SIEL Deputy Managing Director, Mr Ravinder Zutushi, who inaugurated the showroom, told Business Line that display of the entire range of high-end products in consumer electronics, home appliances, IT and telecom etc, under one roof boosted brand building.

On display are the latest range of products such as plasma displays, LCD TVs, DLP TVs, DNIe Vision series of Flat Colour TVs, refrigerators, air-conditioners and washing machines based on Silver Nano technology, he said and added that "We enjoy 21 per cent market share in colour TV, 16 per cent in refrigerator and 15 per cent in air-conditioners." There are 75 Samsung showrooms across the country including three in the State. There are plans to open 100 more across the country including one each at Coimbatore, Salem and one more at Chennai. The company, which has had a 30 per cent growth in value turn over last year, has a target of reaching a turnover of Rs 6,500 crore soon, he added.
