Maersk-P&O merger equations

THE merger of P&O Nedlloyd with Maersk Sealand has put terminal conditions up for rework. In India, the two shipping lines compete with each other in two different ports, both in Gujarat.

In Jawaharlal Nehru port, P&O Ports is active in two terminals while the third terminal is being constructed by APM Terminals, a joint venture between Maersk and Container Corporation of India. In Britain, Southampton is P&O Nedlloyd's main port of call while Felixstowe is Maersk Sealand's hub. In East Asia, Maersk Sealand's hub is Malaysia's Port Tanjug Pelepas (not used by P&O Nedlloyd).
