Govt employees

This refers to the article, `Is India shining for the jobless' (June 18, Business Line). Our government offices are facing a paucity of staff. Many government employees are overworked.

In fact, some of the government offices have been functioning out of hired buildings for several years. The amount paid towards rent could actually be utilised for constructing a well-equipped office. Given India's population, the introduction of computers should be discouraged.
