Prime Textiles Q4 net up marginally

COIMBATORE: Prime Textiles Ltd has recorded a reduced sale income in the fourth quarter ended March 31 at Rs 28.94 crore against Rs 33.31 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year.

But the company managed to post a marginally higher operating profit of Rs 3.73 crore (Rs 3.54 crore) thanks to a lower expenditure including a lower raw material consumption.

Its profit after tax for the quarter stood at Rs 1.42 crore as against Rs 41 lakh last year.

Prime Textile's year-on-year operative income too came down marginally to Rs 120.30 crore as on March 31 compared with the previous fiscal's Rs 124.34 crore. Its profit after tax for the full financial year under review went up to Rs 2.56 crore (Rs 1.52 crore).

The board of the company at its meeting held on Monday announced a dividend of 7.5 per cent for 2004-05.
