SOGO Ceramic Pvt Ltd, promoted by the Samay Group, has launched its newly introduced vitrified tile brand called Sogo in the Kerala market.

The company is targeting Kerala market in a big way, since the State is an emerging market in the construction sector after Maharashtra.

Sogo is expecting a 35 per cent share from the market within one year, said Mr Ramesh Patel, Managing Director.

Priced in the Rs 70-125 range, the tiles are available in 4x3, 3x3 and 2x3 sizes.

The company has set up a manufacturing facility at Morbe, Gujarat at an investment of Rs 50 crore.

The factory has a production capacity of 5,000 sq m a day. After catering to the domestic market, Sogo has plans for exports too, he said.

"The Indian ceramic industry is witnessing a rapid growth with a lot of technical advancement and infrastructure development. The flooring section is also seeing encouraging changes with the introduction of vitrified tiles in the market."
