Rubber futures flat on hartal, transport strike

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , June 22

THE spot rubber market remained closed on Wednesday on account of the hartal in Kerala against the hike in petrol and diesel prices.

The NMCE rubber futures were quoted almost flat as most of the market participants in the State were absent from the trading floors due to the hartal and vehicle strike.

The July contract was traded at Rs 61.40 (Rs 61.40), August contract at Rs 61.20 (Rs 61.23) and September contract at Rs 58.77 (Rs 58.79) per kg for RSS 4.

The October contract was inactive against its previous closing at Rs 57.50 a kg. The trading volumes were extremely narrow totalling only 144 lots till mid-session. The July futures for RSS 3 closed marginally better at 161 yen against 160.4 yen at TOCOM.
